your summer view.
your day at camp canada.
You'll arrive at camp in June and have an unforgettable 8 weeks of work, with time to travel afterward. Every day will be an adventure with Camp Canada - but what does every day look like?
From morning to evening, you'll have a blast at camp in Canada. If you're having trouble picturing what your summer day-to-day will look like, that's okay - we've created the ultimate guide to your day at summer camp.
what to expect at camp:
morning: 8am - 12pm
wake up to another sunny day.
Wherever you're from, we'll bet that the weather in June isn't as sunny as a typical Canadian summer morning. You'll start your day at around 8am - you'll grab breakfast in the dining area, and then everyone will depart for their morning activities, which usually start at around 10am.
Depending on your job role, your daily schedule might take a different form. Activity specialists will get ready for the campers to arrive at their station, and camp counsellors will be with their group of campers through their whole day.
Before you know it, it'll be noon - which means it's time for lunch.
You'll be living comfortably this summer no matter which camp you end up at. It won't take long to settle in - from June to August, it'll feel like your second home.
You'll have shared accommodation, which means you'll grow close to your bunk group. Most counsellors typically share or have an adjoining bunk with their campers, and depending on availability, activity specialists will often share a cabin with other counsellors.
afternoon: 12pm - 5pm
mealtime. downtime. activity. repeat.
After lunch, you'll have some downtime for about an hour before the activities start back up again. You can relax and hang out with your fellow counsellors and their campers before you get back into activity mode.
Canada is full of amazing scenery - and with all the different activities at camp, so you won't be going bored. Teach the campers how to waterski on one of Canada's many freshwater lakes, explore your artistic side, or simply take a hike and see what you find.
Want a summer job abroad with food and accommodation included? You've come to the right place. With Camp Canada, your meals at camp are all covered, plus snacks between mealtimes.
Breakfast around 8:30 am: It's the most important meal of the day - and you'll need lots of energy for the action-packed day ahead. Fill up on fruit, cereal, pancakes, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns - anything you can think of. Of course, you're in Canada - so you'll probably put maple syrup on everything.
Lunch at noon: The entire camp will be excited to find out what's on the lunch menu each day - and it's usually something good. Deli sandwiches, chicken burgers, quesadillas, mac and cheese, and more.
Dinner around 6 pm: Wind down the rest of the day with a great Canadian dinner meal - spaghetti & meatballs, chicken fingers, classic BBQ, the list goes on and on.
evening: from 5pm
the golden hour that just keeps on going.
Grab some dinner and get ready for the evening - just because it's getting dark out doesn't mean the fun has to end. The entire camp will get together for a campfire - or maybe it'll be a talent show or a competition.
There will typically be an evening snack before bed - chips, fruit, or milk & cookies. When it's time for bed, round up your campers, head for your cabin, and hit the pillows. It all starts again tomorrow!
No two camps are the same, just like no two camp experiences are the same - and there's only one way to find out for yourself.
All you need to do is apply - we'll help you with the rest. You'll be able to move your application forward to the "Ready to Hire" stage, speak to Camp Directors, and find out what your camp will be like - and before you know it, you'll be there yourself.
