Online Hiring Fair FAQs
What are Online Hiring Fairs?
The Camp Canada Online Hiring Fairs are the biggest summer camp hiring events of the year - for good reason. It's the one time of year that hundreds of international staff lock in at their laptops, with their time dedicated to interviewing with camps. As a camp, you will list the skills you're looking for, so participants can choose which camps they would like to speak to - and hopefully secure a job offer.
Camp Canada organizes the Online Hiring Fairs to maximize your opportunity to hire staff from across the globe in one event.
The Fairs go across three days, to offer flexibility to set your own schedule and interview availability.
When do the hiring fairs start?
Online hiring fairs tend to start around 10am, allowing you as much availability as possible to hire superstars for your camp.
Running throughout the day means there's normally a lot of slots available to book interviews but participants do book these quickly. Please ensure you block off some larger chunks of time during the duration of the fairs to maximize interview availability. You are able to accept interview requests or reject them.
What are they like?
The online fairs are the ultimate planning party.
Participants can expect the environment at an Online Hiring Fair to be high-pressure and stressful (after all, it is a job interview) and slightly 'weird' with it being online. But we're Camp Canada, and that's just not how we roll. Just like our in person fairs, the environment is relaxed and now the interviews take place online, you can treat them just like your normal interview process.
Plus, being online helps save you time in needing to go to a major city for an in-person event, meaning the time you've gained back you can speak to more participants.
How do they work?
Unlike our traditional system, the Online Fairs offer participants the opportunity to speak with multiple camps at once. The fairs also allow for camps to do a large portion of hiring in a condensed amount of time.
You will need to register for the Online Hiring Fair event by emailing placement@campcanada.ca or through your Account Manager. Your camp must be ready to hire in order to participate in the fairs. This means completing all sections, signing all documents and completing your camp profile. Please contact your account manager if you require assistance.
You'll have the ability to set your interview schedule on the portal which participants will use to book interviews directly with your camps when the Interview Bookings go live.
You will add in a meeting link to the interview section so on the day of, the simple to use system means the participant will enter a waiting room prior to your interview starting.
If you would like to hire a participant after a successful interview, you'll need to offer them a job in the portal. The participant can then accept, or continue to interview with the other camps they have booked interviews with and then decide which offer to accept.
If you do not want to offer a participant a job that's totally okay, they will be able to keep speaking to camps until they find the right one.
