Work Permit Team Lead

The details

In addition to providing high quality, supportive work permit support to each participant taking part in the program, this job requires a high level of attention to detail as you will be responsible for moving each participant through the work permit process, speaking with Camp Directors to answer their questions and ensure all camp accounts are set up correctly with their immigration documentation.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for managing multiple inboxes and being the first point of contact for any queries regarding the work permit process internally and externally.

Location: Toronto

Wage: $39.90 per hour

Hours: Full time at 31 hours per week

Work setting: Work from home option with a base in Toronto (must be willing to relocate to Toronto)

The responsibilities

Job responsibilities
  • Lead the work permit flow of moving participants through the necessary work permit stages and flow once placed at a camp
  • Support the Direct Placement Program, and First-Timer Program to help deliver camps a smooth immigration process for their international staff and resolve issues that may rise
  • Ensure camps accounts are set up correctly in our portal with the correct documentation.
  • Assist with moving our international participants through the necessary stages in our CRM system
  • Assist with verifying documents submitted to our portal.
  • Work closely with our internal Immigration Consultant with any work permit-related tasks and gain an understanding of the Government portal submission process
  • Use metrics and/or reports to guide your work and ensure the process is flowing efficiently to avoid any bottlenecks by utilizing our online CRM tool
  • Serve as the liaison between different internal teams about work permits to bridge the communication and knowledge gap
  • Keep up with any relevant changes around the work permit process, the Government of Canada’s website, and/or travel regulations that might affect our participants
  • Update guides and templates regarding the work permit process, and support with facilitating training on the process for Country Offices
  • Take the lead on any issues that may arise at the immigration border
  • Playing a role within the Support Worker Progam related to the IEC application guide, process and any immigration-related questions that participants may have
  • Responding to Support Worker Program participant questions around their applications and sharing this knowledge with relevant team members to assist with these queries
Essential experience
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working in immigration or work permit administration.
  • Experience working in a senior role at a camp or within the outdoor industry is essential with a minimum of 3 years experience in either of these areas
  • Experience traveling and/or working abroad
  • Minimum undergraduate degree or equivalent
Other requirements
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or legally able to work in Canada.
  • Expected to work in the Camp Canada Office in Toronto 3 days per week.

  • Hanover software or similar staffing agency online software
  • Ability to support over 200 client accounts
